Why should you convert your tapes from analog to digital?
VHS tapes were designed to last 30-60 years. If well kept, they will obviously last longer. However, since they do not last forever, there is a need to eventually transfer the contents into digital form. Additionally, we are now starting to enter the period where these tapes should be converted into digital form, otherwise we do run the risk of some loss. For example, one customer had 28 tapes to be converted. 27 converted with little problem, but one tape simply was corrupted and no capture could be attained. The bottom line is that since all tapes will need conversion eventually. Perhaps now is the best time.
